FYI-This Is A Rant

I hate the phrase FYI (for your information). I find it to be condescending and completely unnecessary. Any phrase or comment can be completed without first saying FYI. Try it...you will quickly notice how pointless FYI is. Because of this, it makes me wonder why people insist on using it. Maybe they feel like what they are about to say is so important they need to introduce it with FYI. They are implying you should add their wisdom to your brain for later access. Or maybe they just want to feel good about themselves because they are telling you something they know but you don't.

In my opinion, the only thing FYI is good for is inspiration for a rant blog. Other than that, nothing at all. I don't want to get too personal with this, put I want to thank my coworker/s for the inspiration for this rant. Long Mondays leave me short on ideas.
